Pure Water (single serving)

Method

Prepare and Serve

  1. 1

    Check water source

Confirm that the drinking water is safe: use filtered, bottled, or properly treated tap water. If using tap water in an area where tap water quality is uncertain, use bottled or boiled-and-cooled water or run it through a certified filter.

  2. 2

    Chill (optional)

If you prefer cold water, chill the glass in the refrigerator for a few minutes or fill the glass with the optional ice cubes (about 3 cubes) before adding water.

  3. 3

    Pour water

Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of filtered drinking water into the glass (adjust quantity as desired). If you prepared a pitcher or bottle, pour from it into the glass.

  4. 4

    Add optional garnish

If desired, squeeze the optional lemon wedge into the water for a light citrus flavor and drop the wedge into the glass or discard the rind. Stir gently if using ice or lemon.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve immediately. Refill as needed. For storage, keep water in a covered container in the refrigerator and consume within 24–48 hours for best freshness.

Scaling and Safety Notes

  1. 6

To make a larger quantity, scale the filtered water proportionally (e.g., 1 liter ≈ 4.2 cups) and store it in a clean, covered pitcher or bottle in the refrigerator. Replace ice as it melts and discard water that has been left uncovered at room temperature for long periods or that develops an off smell or appearance.
