Method
Classic Canada Dry Highball
Add ice
Fill the chilled glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes.
Pour spirit
Measure and pour 1.5 oz bourbon or whiskey over the ice. (If you prefer a lighter drink, use 1 oz.)
Add lime
Squeeze about 0.5 oz (half a fresh lime) of fresh lime juice into the glass. Drop in the spent lime half if you like extra aroma.
Garnish and serve
Finish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.
Non‑alcoholic variation
Chill glass
Chill a highball or Collins glass briefly or fill it with ice water while preparing ingredients.
Add ice
Fill the glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes.
Add lime
Squeeze 0.5 oz (half a lime) of fresh lime juice into the glass for brightness.
Top with ginger ale
Pour 12 oz Canada Dry ginger ale slowly over the ice. Stir gently once to combine.
