Fried Cheese Ingredients
Method
Fried Cheese Directions
Prepare the Cheese
Cut the cheese into sticks or cubes, about 1 inch thick.
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Add Egg and Water
Add the egg and cold water to the dry ingredients. Whisk until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Dip and Fry
Dip each piece of cheese into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered cheese into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried cheese from the oil using a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with ranch dressing on the side.
