Method

Preparing the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix the Coffee and Liqueur

Once cooled, mix the espresso with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.

Making the Filling

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Add 500 grams of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture. Mix until smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined and smooth.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip 24 ladyfinger cookies one at a time into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Cookies

Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish.

  3. 9

    Add Filling

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the layer of ladyfingers.

  4. 10

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 11

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 12

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
