Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Crust Mixture

In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture is well combined and resembles wet sand.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the graham cracker mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish evenly.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool while preparing the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk until smooth and creamy.

  2. 6

Add Key Lime Juice and Zest

Gradually add the key lime juice and lime zest to the egg mixture, whisking until fully combined and smooth.

  3. 7

    Pour Filling into Crust

Pour the filling into the cooled graham cracker crust, spreading it evenly.

  4. 8

    Bake the Pie

Bake the pie in the oven for an additional 15 minutes. The filling should be set but slightly jiggly in the center. Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Whipped Cream

In a medium bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form.

  2. 10

    Top the Pie

Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the cooled pie. Decorate with lime slices on top.

  3. 11

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving. Enjoy your delicious key lime pie!
