Method

Prepare the Meat Sauce

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion is translucent.

  2. 2

    Brown the Meat

Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix until well combined.

Cook the Lasagna Noodles

  1. 5

    Boil the Noodles

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Assemble the Lasagna

  1. 6

    Layer Ingredients

In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer 4 noodles on top, followed by a portion of the cheese mixture, then another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with noodles and a final layer of meat sauce.

  2. 7

    Add Topping

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the final layer of meat sauce.

Bake the Lasagna

  1. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 9

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  3. 10

    Cool and Serve

Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
