Salmon
Rice Pilaf
Method
Preparing the Cedar Plank Salmon
- 1
Soak the Cedar Plank
Submerge the cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour to prevent it from catching fire while grilling.
- 2
Make the Glaze
In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, orange juice, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Prepare the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place the salmon skin-side down on the soaked cedar plank.
- 4
Apply the Glaze
Brush half of the brown sugar citrus glaze over the salmon fillet, reserving the remaining glaze for later.
