Method

For the Grilled Rib Eye

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the rib eye steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the olive oil all over the steak. Generously sprinkle the Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper on both sides of the steak, pressing it into the meat.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

For the Country Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with water.

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring the pot to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Drain the Potatoes

Once cooked, drain the potatoes thoroughly and return them to the pot.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Add the butter, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to the potatoes. Use a potato masher to mash until smooth and creamy.

  5. 10

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto plates alongside the grilled rib eye. Enjoy your delicious meal!
