Cooking Instructions

1. Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the potatoes

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes (about 1/8 inch thick).

3. Make the cream mixture

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Then, add the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Stir and heat until warm, but do not boil.

4. Layer the potatoes

In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.

5. Add Parmesan

Top the final layer with the Parmesan cheese.

6. Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

7. Cool and serve

Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your Potatoes au Gratin!
