Method

Simple Syrup (sweetener)

1

Make quick syrup

Combine 2 tablespoons granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons (about 30 ml) warm water in a small jar or cup. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved to create a very small quick syrup. Let cool briefly (1–2 minutes) before using. This ensures even sweetness without gritty sugar in the final drink.

Assemble Sprite-style Drink

2

Fill a tall glass with about 1 cup of ice.

3

Add the 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice to the glass. If you used lemon and lime zest, add 1 teaspoon of each to intensify citrus aroma.

4

Pour the prepared quick syrup into the glass and gently stir to combine with the citrus juices and distribute sweetness.

5

Slowly pour 2 cups (about 480 ml) of chilled carbonated water into the glass over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles and prevent excessive foaming. Stir gently once or twice to integrate, avoiding vigorous stirring that will flatten the carbonation.

6

Taste and adjust: if you prefer sweeter, add up to an additional 1 tablespoon quick syrup; for more citrus brightness, add an extra 1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice.

7

Garnish with a lemon wheel, lime wheel, and/or a mint sprig if desired. Serve immediately while chilled and fizzy.
