Cocktail Base
Garnish & Aromatics
Method
Muddling & Mixing
Prepare the basil
Place 4 fresh basil leaves in the base of a cocktail shaker. Add the agave syrup and 0.25 oz of the fresh lemon juice. Gently muddle the basil just enough to release the aromatic oils — do not over-muddle into a paste.
Build the cocktail
Add the Stoli Citros, the remaining 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and ice (about 1/2 cup) to the shaker. Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.
Strain & Top
Double strain
Double-strain the shaken mixture into a chilled large wine glass or a Collins glass filled with fresh ice (remaining ~1/2 cup). Use a fine-mesh strainer in addition to the shaker strainer to remove basil bits.
Garnish & Finish
Slap the remaining 2 basil leaves between your palms to release aroma and place them on top of the drink. Garnish with the lemon wheel or twist on the rim. Serve immediately.
