Method
Base
Chill a 12 fl oz can or bottle of Coke Zero in the refrigerator until cold (around 2–3 hours) or use a fridge-chilled bottle. If using a glass bottle or can straight from a cooler, wipe dry to avoid water dripping into the drink.
Select a tall glass (12–16 oz capacity) and optionally fill it with 1 cup of ice cubes if you prefer a very cold drink. Note: ice will dilute carbonation slightly as it melts.
Optional additions
Lime garnish
If using a fresh lime wedge, run the wedge around the rim of the glass for a light citrus aroma, then drop the wedge into the drink or perch it on the rim. You can squeeze the wedge into the drink for a hint of citrus—about 1/2 teaspoon of juice—if desired.
Mint
Lightly clap the mint sprig between your palms to release oils, then tuck it into the drink as a garnish or gently bruise the leaves against the rim before adding for a subtle mint aroma. Do not muddle heavily, as that can release bitter flavors.
Garnish twist
Add a lemon or lime twist on the rim for a decorative squeeze of citrus oils across the surface of the drink.
Serve immediately while cold to preserve carbonation and crispness.
