Start by rimming your glass with salt. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip it into a plate of salt to coat.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well until chilled.
