Method
Wine (single serving)
Chill glass and prepare ice
Place a large white wine glass or tulip-style glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill briefly with ice water to chill while you prepare ingredients. If using crushed ice, measure approximately 1 cup and set aside.
Combine base wines
In a mixing glass or small pitcher, pour 5 fl oz dry rosé and 1 fl oz dry white wine (if using). The white wine is optional but adds lift and an extra floral fruit note consistent with Provençal blends.
Add aromatics and sweetener
Add 0.25 fl oz elderflower liqueur, 0.25 fl oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.25 tsp simple syrup. Add 1 drop orange blossom water if using — a little goes a long way. Stir gently 6–8 seconds to integrate without flattening the wine.
Tasting notes & adjustments
Taste and adjust: if you prefer sweeter, add another 1/4 tsp simple syrup; if more brightness is needed, add another 1/4 fl oz lemon juice. Avoid overmixing so the wine remains lively.
Batch (4 servings)
Mix wines and flavorings
In the chilled pitcher combine 20 fl oz dry rosé and 4 fl oz dry white wine (optional). Add 1 fl oz elderflower liqueur, 1 fl oz fresh lemon juice, and 1 tsp simple syrup. Add 4 drops orange blossom water if using. Stir gently for 10–12 seconds to combine while preserving effervescence and aroma.
Storage note
If not serving immediately, keep the mixed wine chilled in the refrigerator up to 2 hours. Do not pre-mix with ice more than 15 minutes ahead to avoid dilution.
