Ingredients for Tuna Wonton Tacos

Method

Directions for Tuna Wonton Tacos

1

Prepare the Soy Ginger Reduction

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, grated ginger, honey, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5-7 minutes, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

2

Prepare the Wontons

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat. While the oil heats, shape the wonton wrappers into taco shapes. You can do this by gently folding them over a wooden spoon or using a taco mold.

3

Fry the Wontons

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the wonton shapes into the oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper while still warm.

4

Assemble the Tacos

In a bowl, combine diced ahi tuna with sliced green onions, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Fill each fried wonton with the tuna mixture.

5

Serve

Drizzle the soy ginger reduction over the filled wonton tacos. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
