Ingredients for Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna

Method

Preparation Instructions

1

Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped lemongrass and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Add chopped cilantro and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Strain the broth and set aside.

2

Braised Baby Bok Choy

In the same pot, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Add the baby bok choy and sweet bell peppers. Season with salt and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Remove from heat.

3

Prepare the Tuna

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a shallow dish, mix sesame seeds and crushed wasabi peas. Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and black pepper, then press them into the sesame mixture to coat both sides.

4

Cook the Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the coated tuna steaks. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.

5

Plate the Dish

In a serving bowl, place a portion of the braised baby bok choy and sweet peppers. Pour over the lemongrass cilantro broth. Top with the sesame-crusted tuna and garnish with pickled ginger.
