Cocktail (1 serving)

Method

Cocktail (Tanqueray Gimlet-style)

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or chilled rocks glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz Tanqueray gin, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 cubes). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch.

4

Strain

Discard ice/water from the chilled glass if used. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or a rocks glass over fresh ice (optional) using a cocktail strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and small shards of ice.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or a lime twist. Serve immediately.

Optional: Classic Gin & Tonic

6

Fill glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice (about 6 cubes).

7

Add gin

Pour 2 oz Tanqueray gin over the ice.

8

Add tonic

Gently pour 4 oz chilled tonic water down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation. Stir gently once with a bar spoon to combine.

9

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel. Serve with a straw or without as preferred.
