Cocktail
Garnish & rim (optional)
Method
Prepare glass
Rim (optional)
If you want a salted rim, rub the lemon wedge around the outer rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass. Spread the salt on a small plate and dip the moistened rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.
Mix cocktail
Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz triple sec (or Cointreau), 1 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice (roughly 6 ice cubes).
Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted. This dilutes and chills the drink to the proper balance.
Strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer (or the shaker’s strainer) into the prepared glass over fresh ice (for a rocks-style) or without ice into the chilled coupe/cocktail glass.
Finish
Garnish with a lemon wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
