Miso Soup Ingredients

Method

Miso Soup Directions

1

Prepare the Dashi Stock

In a pot, bring 4 cups of dashi stock to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

2

Rehydrate the Wakame

While the stock is heating, soak the dried wakame in warm water for about 5 minutes until it expands. Drain and set aside.

3

Add Tofu and Wakame

Once the dashi stock is simmering, add the cubed tofu and the soaked wakame to the pot. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes.

4

Mix in Miso Paste

In a small bowl, take a ladle of the hot dashi stock and mix it with the miso paste until smooth. Then, gently stir this mixture back into the pot. Avoid boiling the soup after adding the miso to preserve its flavor and health benefits.

5

Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, add chopped green onions, and serve hot.
