Method
Chicken Tenders
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breasts into strips about 1 inch wide.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dip each chicken strip into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken tenders in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- 5
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken tenders from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Keep warm until ready to serve.
Croissants
- 6
Make the Dough
In a large bowl, mix together flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Warm the milk until lukewarm and add to the dry ingredients along with melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- 7
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- 8
Prepare Butter for Folding
While the dough is rising, soften the cold butter to room temperature and shape it into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick, then refrigerate.
- 9
- 10
Roll and Fold
Roll out the dough into a long rectangle and fold it into thirds. Repeat this process three times, chilling the dough for 30 minutes between folds.
- 11
Shape the Croissants
Roll the final dough into a large rectangle, cut into triangles, and roll each triangle from the base to the tip to form croissants.
- 12
Final Rise
Place the shaped croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- 13
Bake
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush the croissants with the beaten egg for shine and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- 14
Cool and Serve
Let the croissants cool on a wire rack before serving.
