Cocktail

Ice
Method
Preparation
- 1
Chill glass (optional)
Place a rocks or coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure the finished drink is cool.
- 2
Mixing
- 3
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 1 cup).
- 4
Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, and 0.25 oz orange liqueur (if using) to the shaker.
- 5
Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. This dilutes and chills the drink to balance agave and citrus while preserving the tequila's agave character.
- 6
Discard ice or water from the chilled glass if you used it to chill. Strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer (or the shaker's strainer) into the prepared glass over fresh ice (a single large cube for a rocks glass is ideal) or serve neat in a coupe.
Garnish
- 7
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim or floated in the glass. Serve immediately.
