Meatballs

Tomato-Herb Sauce

Toasted Bread

Method

Preparing the Meatballs

1

Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

2

Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter.

3

Fry Meatballs

Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Making the Tomato-Herb Sauce

4

Sauté Onions and Garlic

In the same pan, add olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

5

Add Tomatoes and Herbs

Add the canned diced tomatoes, dried basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and let simmer for 10 minutes.

6

Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Carefully add the fried meatballs to the sauce. Cover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Toasting the Bread

7

Prepare Bread

Spread softened butter on both sides of each bread slice.

8

Toast Bread

In a separate pan, toast the bread slices over medium heat until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Serving

9

Plate the Dish

Serve the meatballs topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped basil, alongside the toasted bread.
