Method

Bruschetta Preparation

1

Prepare the Tomato Mixture

Dice the Roma tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Add the chopped basil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

2

Make the Olive Tapenade

In a food processor, combine pitted olives, a splash of olive oil, and garlic. Blend until you have a coarse paste. Adjust seasoning as needed.

3

Toast the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

4

Assemble the Bruschetta

Spread a layer of olive tapenade on each toasted baguette slice, then top with a generous spoonful of the tomato mixture. Serve immediately.
