Preparation Steps

1

Prepare Wasabi Mashed Potatoes

In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with wasabi paste, salt, and pepper to taste. Set aside.

2

Sauté Shiitake Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced shiitake mushrooms and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

3

Pan-Seer Ahi Tuna

Heat the remaining olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and black pepper. Sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for a minute.

4

Prepare Ginger Soy Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce with grated ginger. Set aside.

5

Prepare Watercress Salad

Toss the watercress with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste.

6

Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of wasabi mashed potatoes, top with pan-seared ahi tuna, add sautéed shiitake mushrooms, and garnish with watercress salad. Drizzle ginger soy sauce over the tuna.
