Method
Preparation
Chill glass
Place a coupe or chilled rocks glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure the final drink is cold.
Measure ingredients
Measure 2 oz Belvedere Vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Have 2 dashes of orange bitters ready.
Mixing
Add to shaker
Fill a cocktail shaker with fresh ice (about 3/4 full). Pour in the measured Belvedere Vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Add 2 dashes of orange bitters.
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the exterior is well chilled and slightly frosted. This both chills and slightly dilutes the drink for balance.
Prepare glass
Remove the coupe or rocks glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. If using a rocks glass, add fresh large ice if desired; for a coupe, serve straight up.
Strain
Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a Hawthorne strainer and fine mesh strainer (or just a Hawthorne if fine strainer not available) to remove small ice shards and pulp.
Garnish & Serve
Final touch
Serve immediately while cold. Enjoy the clean, silky character of Belvedere brightened by lemon and rounded with a hint of orange bitters.
