Preparation Steps

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine masa harina and salt. Gradually add water, mixing with your hands or a spatula until a dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Knead the dough for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water; if too wet, add a bit more masa harina.

3

Divide the Dough

Divide the dough into 10-12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.

4

Flatten the Tortillas

Using a tortilla press or a rolling pin, flatten each ball between two pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper until they are about 1/8 inch thick.

5

Cook the Tortillas

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla for about 30 seconds on each side, or until lightly browned and cooked through.

6

Keep Warm

Transfer cooked tortillas to a plate and cover with a clean kitchen towel to keep warm while you cook the remaining tortillas.
