Sliders

Method

Tangy Tap Sauce

1

In a small bowl combine mayonnaise, yellow mustard, dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, pickle juice, honey, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and fully combined.

2

Taste and adjust: add up to 1/2 tsp more pickle juice or vinegar if you want brighter tang, or a pinch more honey if you prefer sweeter. Refrigerate while preparing sliders to let flavors meld.

3

Form and Season Patties

Divide the ground beef into two equal portions (about 8 ounces each). Lightly shape each portion into a flat round patty slightly wider than the pretzel slider buns. Season both sides of each patty with salt, black pepper and garlic powder.

4

Cook Patties

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. When hot and shimmering, add the patties. Cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until a brown crust forms, then flip and cook another 2-3 minutes for medium (adjust time for desired doneness).

5

Melt Cheese

During the last 1 minute of cooking, place one american cheese slice on each patty. Cover the pan with a lid or a sheet pan to trap steam and help the cheese melt, about 30-60 seconds.

6

Toast Buns

While cheese melts, spread softened butter on cut sides of the pretzel slider buns. Transfer buns, butter-side down, to a clean skillet or the griddle and toast over medium heat until golden, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.

7

Remove patties from pan and let rest for 1 minute. Place each cheesy patty on the bottom half of a toasted pretzel slider bun.

Toppings & Assembly

8

Spread about 1 tablespoon of Tangy Tap Sauce on the top half of each toasted bun (reserve extra sauce to the side if desired).

9

Top each patty with a small handful (about 1/4 cup) of field greens, then 2 dill pickle slices, and a few thin slices of white onion (about 2 tablespoons).

10

Close sliders, press gently to compact, and serve immediately while hot.

11

Optional: Serve extra Tangy Tap Sauce on the side for dipping.
