Cake Ingredients

Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3

Add Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

4

Add Boiling Water

Stir in the boiling water carefully. The batter will be thin.

5

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6

Cool the Cake

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

7

Prepare the Frosting

In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the cocoa powder and powdered sugar, alternating with milk, until you reach a smooth consistency.

8

Add Vanilla

Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.

9

Frost the Cake

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top, then place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.

10

Serve

Slice the cake and serve. Enjoy your rich chocolate cake!
