Preparation Instructions

1

Prepare the Zabaglione

In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and whisk until the mixture is pale and thick, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.

2

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Allow it to cool.

3

Assemble the Tiramisu

Quickly dip each ladyfinger in the coffee mixture, allowing them to soak for just a second to avoid sogginess. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish. Spread half of the zabaglione mixture over the ladyfingers, followed by half of the hazelnut gelato. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.

4

Chill and Serve

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
