Method

Shrimp Preparation

1

Prepare the Shrimp

If using raw shrimp, boil them in salted water until they turn pink (about 2-3 minutes). Drain and let cool. If using pre-cooked shrimp, simply rinse them under cold water and set them aside.

2

Prepare the Shrimp Broth

In a medium saucepan, heat the shrimp broth until it simmers. Set aside to cool before adding to the mixture.

Vegetable Preparation

3

Chop the Vegetables

Finely chop the red onion, cucumber, and serrano chili. For the serrano chili, remove the seeds if you prefer a milder flavor.

4

Prepare Avocado

Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash lightly with a fork, leaving some chunks for texture.

Mixing the Coctel

5

Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, chopped red onion, cucumber, serrano chili, and mashed avocado.

6

Season the Mixture

Add the shrimp broth, salt, and lime juice to the mixture. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients without mashing the avocado further.

7

Add Cilantro (Optional)

If using, chop the cilantro and fold it into the mixture for added flavor.

Serving

8

Serve the Coctel

Divide the coctel into serving glasses or bowls. Garnish with additional lime wedges if desired and serve chilled.
