Method

Meatball Preparation

1

Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2

Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Heat Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

4

Cook Meatballs

Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Sauce Preparation

5

Sauté Garlic

In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and heat over medium. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

6

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, sugar, and basil leaves. Stir well to combine.

7

Simmer Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and allow it to cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

8

Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Add the browned meatballs back into the skillet with the sauce. Stir gently to coat the meatballs in the sauce. Let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.
