1. Prepare the Patty
In a bowl, gently season the wagyu beef patty with salt and black pepper. Be careful not to overwork the meat.
2. Cook the Patty
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the wagyu patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top, cooking for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.
3. Prepare the Bun
While the patty is cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.
4. Assemble the Burger
On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked wagyu patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and onion. Add ketchup and mayonnaise to taste, and then top with the other half of the bun.
5. Serve
Serve the wagyu burger hot with your choice of sides.
