Place the bottle in an ice bucket filled with ice and water for 20–30 minutes, or refrigerate upright for at least 2 hours prior to serving. Ideal serving temperature is 45–50°F (7–10°C).

Chill (if not already chilled)

Verify the bottle shows California NV (non-vintage) and that the cork or closure is intact. Wipe the neck and foil with a clean cloth to remove dust or residue.

Inspect bottle

Cut and remove the foil around the top using a foil cutter or the small knife on a waiter’s corkscrew. Center the corkscrew on the cork and twist in until about five turns remain, then pull the cork out gently to avoid agitation and excessive fizz.

Open bottle

Use chilled champagne flutes or sparkling wine glasses. If desired, rinse briefly with cold water and drain so the glass is cold but not wet.

Prepare glasses

Domaine Chandon Rosé is a sparkling wine and typically should not be decanted. Skip decanting to preserve bubbles, unless you prefer to pour gently into a larger pitcher to aerate slightly for a short time (not recommended).

Decanting (optional)

Hold the glass at a slight angle and pour slowly down the side to preserve effervescence. Fill each flute about two-thirds full (about 4–5 oz / 120–150 ml per glass) to allow the aromas to develop.

Pour

Serve immediately after pouring. Place the bottle in the ice bucket to maintain temperature on the table. Provide napkins or a small serving cloth for any drips.

Serve

If using raspberries, gently drop 2–3 fresh raspberries into each flute. For a lemon twist, express oils over the glass by twisting the peel, then rest the twist on the rim. Add a mint sprig for aroma if desired. Note: garnishes are optional and will slightly alter the flavor and bubble retention.
