Preparation
Chill can (optional)
If the can is not already cold, place it in the refrigerator for at least 30–60 minutes or in an ice bucket for 5–10 minutes until chilled to around 38–45°F (3–7°C). Cold soda tastes best and retains carbonation when poured over ice.
Prepare glass
Select a tall glass. Add 4 ice cubes to the glass. Adjust number of ice cubes to preference — fewer for less dilution, more for colder drink.
Open and pour
Hold the cold can upright, position the glass at an angle (about 45°), open the can gently to avoid excessive fizz, and slowly pour the Sprite down the inside wall of the glass so it flows gently over the ice. Pour to nearly full, leaving a small headspace to prevent overflow from fizz.
Garnish and serve
If desired, squeeze the optional lime wedge over the soda and drop the wedge into the glass or serve the wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring spoon. Enjoy.
