Method

Preparing the Spiced Base

1

Infuse the Spices

In a small pot, combine 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 cardamom pods, 5 cloves, and 1 inch of peeled ginger root. Add 4 cups of water and bring to a boil over medium heat.

2

Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes to allow the spices to fully infuse.

Making the Refreshing Mix

3

Steep the Green Tea

After the spiced base has simmered, remove it from heat. Add 2 green tea bags to the pot and let steep for 5 minutes.

4

Sweeten and Add Citrus

Remove the tea bags and stir in 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 3 tablespoons of honey until well combined.

Finishing Touches

5

Strain the Mixture

Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the spiced tea mixture into a pitcher to remove the solid spices.

6

Add Fresh Mint

Add 10 fresh mint leaves to the strained tea and let it sit for a few minutes to infuse the mint flavor.

Serving

7

Serve Chilled or Warm

Serve the spiced tea warm or chill it in the fridge for a refreshing iced beverage. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs before serving.
