Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and chopped rosemary. This will serve as the marinade for the beef.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Rub the marinade all over the beef tri tip and let it sit for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator, or overnight for best results.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  4. 4

    Sear the Beef

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a bit of olive oil and sear the marinated tri tip for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.

  5. 5

    Roast the Beef

Transfer the seared beef to a roasting pan, pour in the beef broth, and roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 54-60°C (130-140°F) for medium-rare.

  6. 6

    Rest the Meat

Remove from the oven and let the beef rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve with your choice of sides.
