Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

Chill a copper mule mug or highball glass by filling it with ice and cold water for 1–2 minutes. Discard the chilling ice and water before building the cocktail.

2

Build the drink

Add 2 oz Ketel One Oranje vodka, 0.5 oz Bauchant orange liqueur and 0.75 oz fresh-pressed lime juice to the chilled mug or a mixing glass. If you prefer a slightly sweeter mule, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.

3

Add ice

Fill the mug with cracked ice or fresh ice cubes (about 1 cup) to the top. Adding crushed or cracked ice chills quickly and maintains proper dilution.

4

Top with ginger beer

Gently top the mixture with about 4 oz chilled ginger beer. Stir once or twice very gently with a bar spoon to combine the spirits, citrus and ginger beer without flattening the carbonation.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge perched on the rim. Optionally add a candied orange twist or expressed orange peel (twist over the drink to release oils) for extra orange aroma. Serve immediately with a straw or short stirrer.

6

Notes on balance

Taste and adjust: if the mule is too tart, add another 0.25 oz simple syrup; if too sweet, add a splash more lime juice (about 0.25 oz). Use fresh-pressed lime juice for best brightness and Ketel One Oranje for a pronounced orange-forward vodka profile.
