Place the bottle of Caposaldo Pinot Grigio in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. If you need it faster, submerge the bottle in an ice bucket filled with ice and cold water for 20–30 minutes.

Chill bottle

Just before serving, set out clean white wine glasses. Lightly rinse glasses with cold water and dry with a lint-free towel if stored for a long time to remove dust.

Use a wine key or corkscrew to remove the foil and gently extract the cork. Wipe the bottle lip with a clean cloth to remove any cork particles or residue.

Open the bottle

Caposaldo Pinot Grigio is a fresh, unoaked-style wine and generally does not require decanting. If you prefer slightly more aeration, pour slowly into a clean decanter and let sit for 10–15 minutes.

Optional decanting

Pour approximately 5–6 ounces (150–180 ml) per glass, filling to the widest part of the bowl (about one-third full) to allow the wine to breathe and the aromas to concentrate.

If offering lemon, cut 2 wedges and place on a small plate; guests may squeeze a light spritz into their glass if desired. For a spritz-style serve, add 2–3 ounces (60–90 ml) chilled sparkling water to a 5 oz (150 ml) pour of Pinot Grigio and serve over a couple of ice cubes.

Offer light bread or plain crackers on the side. The crisp acidity and citrus notes of the wine pair well with mild cheeses, shellfish, salads, or light antipasti.

Keep the remaining bottle chilled in an ice bucket while serving to maintain temperature. Re-cork the bottle and store upright if returning to the refrigerator. Consume opened bottle within 2–3 days for best freshness.

Wash glasses in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher on a gentle cycle. Rinse and dry immediately to avoid spots. Clean and store the decanter and corkscrew.
