Cocktail

Method

Prep

1

Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill with ice water while preparing the cocktail to ensure the glass is cold.

2

Measure ingredients

Measure Grey Goose La Poire vodka, Canton Ginger liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Use fresh-squeezed lemon for best balance.

Mixing

3

Fill the cocktail shaker with a generous amount of fresh ice (about 3/4 full).

4

Add 2 oz pear vodka, 0.75 oz Canton Ginger liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup to the shaker.

5

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and slightly frosted. Vigorous shaking both chills and integrates the ginger liqueur and citrus.

6

If you prefer an extra-smooth texture, double-strain: hold a fine mesh strainer over the chilled glass while you pour through the Hawthorne strainer to catch any ice shards.

Finish & Garnish

7

Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Using the strainer(s), pour the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass.

8

Garnish with a thin pear slice floated on the surface or skewered on the rim. Optionally add a small piece of candied ginger or a lemon twist for an aromatic accent.

9

Serve immediately while cold.
