Preparation
Chill the glass
Place a martini/coupe glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill.
Combine ingredients
Add Crown Royal Apple (2 oz), Cointreau (0.5 oz), sour apple liqueur (0.5 oz), and fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz) to a cocktail shaker. If you prefer a slightly sweeter drink, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with 6 ice cubes, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.
Strain
Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer (or just a fine strainer) to remove small ice shards for a smooth appearance.
Garnish and serve
Float a thin apple slice or place an apple fan on the rim, and optionally add a lemon twist over the surface to express oils and drop it in. Serve immediately.
