Cooking Instructions
Breading Process
Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dredge each mushroom in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
Fry the Mushrooms
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Fry the breaded mushrooms for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a baking dish.
Layer with Sauce and Cheese
Pour marinara sauce over the fried mushrooms. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. Add fresh basil leaves.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Portobello Parmigiana!
