Prepare the ingredients
Chop the garlic and slice the prosciutto into thin strips. Halve the plum tomatoes.
Sauté garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add prosciutto
Add the sliced prosciutto to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until it starts to become crispy.
Combine tomatoes and wine
Add the halved plum tomatoes to the skillet, followed by the white wine. Stir gently to combine.
Season and simmer
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are soft and the sauce has thickened.
Finish with basil
Remove from heat and stir in the fresh basil. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Serve
Serve hot as a side dish or over pasta.
