Preparation

1

Chill ingredients

Chill the bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine and the juice of your choice thoroughly in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours. If using fresh-squeezed orange juice or a chilled purée (mango/strawberry), strain if you prefer a smoother texture.

2

Prepare glassware and garnishes

Place Champagne flutes in the freezer or refrigerator for 10–15 minutes before serving if you want them extra cold. Slice fresh fruit for garnish: cut orange into thin wheels, halve strawberries, or cut small pineapple wedges.

Mixing by the glass

3

Measure juice into flutes

Pour 2 ounces (approximately 1/4 cup) of your chosen chilled juice into each Champagne flute. For sweeter or less acidic juices (mango, strawberry), use 2 to 3 ounces depending on desired sweetness. For very tart juice (cranberry), consider adding up to 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup per glass to balance acidity.

4

Top with Champagne

Carefully tilt the flute and slowly top with chilled Champagne, pouring about 4 ounces (approximately 1/2 cup) per glass to preserve bubbles. Fill to just below the rim, leaving a small gap for the foam.

5

Optional liqueur

If using triple sec or orange liqueur, add 1/2 tablespoon to the juice in each glass before topping with Champagne for an extra citrus note.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish each flute with an appropriate fruit: orange wheel on the rim for orange juice; strawberry half for strawberry mimosa; pineapple wedge for pineapple; small mango slice or a thin mango ribbon for mango; or an orange wheel or cran-berry skewer for cranberry. Serve immediately while effervescent.

Batch (pitcher) method

7

Combine juice and optional sweetener/liqueur

In a chilled pitcher, combine 2 parts chilled juice with 3 parts chilled Champagne (for example, 3 cups Champagne to 2 cups juice). If juice is tart, stir in simple syrup to taste (start with 2 teaspoons for the full pitcher). If using liqueur, add 1/4 cup triple sec and stir gently.

8

Stir gently and serve

Pour the mixture into chilled flutes. If you prefer more sparkle, pour the Champagne into the pitcher last and stir gently once to avoid excessive foam. Garnish each glass as desired and serve immediately.

9

Notes on ratios

Classic mimosa ratio is about 1:1 (equal parts Champagne and juice). For a drier drink, increase Champagne to about 2 parts Champagne to 1 part juice. Adjust to taste.
