1

Prepare glass (optional)

If desired, run a lime wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass and dip the rim into coarse sugar or salt. Fill the glass about three-quarters full with crushed ice and set aside.

2

Muddle berries and mint

In a cocktail shaker or sturdy mixing glass, add the medley berries and fresh mint leaves. Add the agave nectar and fresh lime juice. Gently muddle 6–8 times until the berries release juice and the mint is fragrant. Avoid over-muddling the mint to prevent bitterness.

3

Add tequila and ice

Add the 100% silver tequila to the shaker and fill the shaker with ice (about 4–6 large cubes). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and combine ingredients.

4

Strain into glass

Using a fine strainer (or a Hawthorne strainer plus a small mesh strainer if you have it), double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over the crushed ice. Double-straining removes berry seeds and mint bits for a smoother drink.

5

Top with soda

Gently top the drink with chilled soda water (about 2 oz). Give the cocktail one brief gentle stir to integrate the soda without dissipating carbonation.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a fresh mint sprig (slap the sprig between your palms first to release aroma) and a lime wedge or wheel. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.
