Margarita Mix
Make simple margarita base
In a large mixing container (at least 2 quarts), combine 2.5 cups fresh lime juice, 0.75 cups agave nectar, and 1.0 cup cold water. Whisk vigorously until the agave is fully dissolved and mixture is homogeneous. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding up to 2 tablespoons more agave if you prefer sweeter; remember alcohol will mute acidity slightly.
Reserve about 1/4 cup of the mix in a small shallow dish for wetting glass rims (optional).
Pour the remaining margarita mix through a fine mesh strainer into the pitcher to remove any pulp or seeds if a smoother texture is desired.
Alcohol
To the strained margarita mix in the pitcher, add 3.0 cups Torada Reposado tequila and 1.0 cup Gran Gala. Stir gently but thoroughly for 20–30 seconds to integrate the spirits with the mix.
Taste the combined pitcher. Adjust balance if needed: add up to 2 tablespoons extra lime juice for more acidity or up to 2 tablespoons more agave for sweetness. If balance is changed, stir again to combine.
Finish & Garnish
Add 8 cups of ice to the pitcher to chill the cocktail, or alternatively chill the finished mixture in the refrigerator and add ice to individual glasses when serving (adding ice to pitcher will dilute slightly over serving time).
Garnish each serving with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve in rocks or margarita glasses over ice.
