Method

Prepare Glass

1

Chill and add ice

Choose a tall glass (12–16 fl oz). Fill glass with about 1 cup of fresh ice to chill and maintain carbonation. If you prefer your drink colder but less diluted, pre-chill the glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes and use less ice.

Add Cherry Flavor

2

Syrup and juice

Pour 1 tablespoon maraschino cherry syrup into the bottom of the prepared glass. Add 1 teaspoon cherry juice if using for extra brightness. If using cherry extract, add 1–2 drops (start with 1; extract is potent). Stir gently with a bar spoon to combine syrup and juice/extract with the cold ice so the flavor disperses without losing too much carbonation later.

Top with Coca‑Cola

3

Add soda

Slowly pour 12 fl oz of chilled Coca‑Cola down the inside of the glass (over the back of a spoon if you want to minimize foam). Pour gently to preserve carbonation and avoid overflow. Leave a little headspace (about 1/2 inch) if you plan to squeeze in lime.

Finish & Garnish

4

Final stir and garnish

Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 turns) to integrate the cherry syrup with the cola without flattening it. Drop in 1–2 maraschino cherries as garnish. If desired, squeeze the lime wedge over the surface (optional) and drop it in. Serve immediately with a straw.
