Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steaks with olive oil on both sides. Then, generously season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Make sure to coat all sides evenly.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steaks in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare, then flip and cook for another 4 minutes. Add the fresh rosemary to the skillet during the last minute of cooking for added flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add salt and bring to a boil over high heat. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are tender, drain them and return to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until creamy and smooth.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak. Enjoy your meal!
