Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye dry with paper towels. Sprinkle the kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly on both sides of the steak. Drizzle olive oil over the steak and rub it in to ensure an even coating.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill/Pan

If using a grill, preheat it to high heat. If using a cast-iron skillet or frying pan, place it on the stove over medium-high heat and allow it to get hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Ribeye

Place the ribeye steak on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it. Flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust time for desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Optional Garnish

In the last minute of cooking, add a sprig of fresh rosemary and a tablespoon of butter to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steak for additional flavor.

Resting

  1. 6

    Let it Rest

Once cooked to your liking, remove the ribeye steak from the grill or skillet, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain into desired thickness. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
