Brownies

Method

Brownies

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars

Once melted, remove from heat and stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar until combined.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 4 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 2 tsp of vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 tsp of salt.

  6. 6

    Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.

  7. 7

    Bake

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. 8

    Cool

Allow brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

Hot Fudge Sauce

  1. 9

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of unsalted butter, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder.

  2. 10

    Add Cream

Once the mixture starts bubbling, slowly add 1 cup of heavy cream while stirring continuously.

  3. 11

    Finish with Vanilla

Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving.

To Serve

  1. 12

    Assemble Dessert

Cut brownies into squares and place a piece on each serving plate. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  2. 13

    Drizzle Hot Fudge

Generously drizzle the hot fudge sauce over the brownie and ice cream.

  3. 14

    Garnish

Finish with chocolate shavings and cherries if desired.
