Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Chop Vegetables

Dice the bell pepper and onion into small pieces. Rinse the spinach and roughly chop it if the leaves are large.

  2. 2

    Prepare Protein

If using ham or bacon, ensure it is cooked and chopped into bite-sized pieces.

Omelet Cooking Process

  1. 3

    Beat Eggs

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until fully combined and slightly frothy.

  2. 4

    Heat Oil

In a non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat until hot.

  3. 5

    Cook Vegetables

Add the chopped bell pepper and onion to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Add the spinach and cook for another minute until wilted.

  4. 6

    Add Egg Mixture

Pour the beaten egg mixture over the sautéed vegetables in the skillet. Tilt the skillet to evenly distribute the eggs.

  5. 7

    Cook the Omelet

Allow the omelet to cook for 3-4 minutes without stirring until the edges begin to set. Gently lift the edges with a spatula to allow uncooked egg to flow underneath.

  6. 8

    Add Fillings

Once the omelet is mostly set, sprinkle the cheddar cheese and cooked ham or bacon over one half of the omelet.

  7. 9

    Fold and Finish Cooking

Carefully fold the other half of the omelet over the fillings. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts and the omelet is cooked through.

  8. 10

    Serve

Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve immediately, optionally garnished with fresh herbs or additional cheese.
